The heavy duty frame and slide are both constructed from tough anodized aluminum, so this sidearm is very durable and feels just like a real steel sidearm. The 25-round gas magazine is also weighted to help improve the realism of this pistol. The outer barrel has been engraved with the manufacturer's initials, and the slide has also been fluted to display these markings proudly.

The dovetail sights are highly accurate, and fiber optics on both the front and rear make for very easy target acquisition and tracking. For players who like the versatility of a red dot sight, the standard rear sight can be removed and a mini red dot sight adapter plate can be securely mounted in its place. A flared magazine well makes reloading under duress extremely easy, and also serves to keep the shooters hand high on the pistol grip which allows for improved weapon control, minimizing recoil, and facilitating faster and more accurate follow up shots. The pistol is hefty, weighing in at over two pounds, which also helps to control the recoil from the realistic blowback action. An ambidextrous thumb safety and standard mag release button are positioned to make operating the weapon functions effortless. Similar to a Glock, the WE Tech T-Rex GBB Pistol also has a functional grip safety to add an additional level of security to operating this pistol.

Deeply stippling covers both sides as well as the front- and backstrap of the grip, and provides a high level of positive weapon control, even while wearing gloves. Serrations on the slide also make cycling the action easy, regardless of loadout choice or operating conditions. To add to the modularity and versatility of this weapon, a short Picatinny rail section has been molded into the lower frame, under the barrel, making it easy to attach a laser sight or flashlight.
