By combining a lightweight nylon polymer build with aggressive tactical features, the Mod-L M4 sets itself apart from the competition. The stock is operated with a unique textured locking lever that is protected by the body of the stock. When the locking mechanism is engaged, the stock holds fast and minimizes accuracy robbing stock wobble. An easy access battery compartment supports up to a 9.6V NiMH nunchuck battery and the battery tubes are ventilated to keep the battery cool and maximize power output, even in hot conditions or during intense gameplay. The flip-up front and rear sights offer a peep sight for engaging targets at a distance, and also have a dovetail sight when folded to increase situational awareness when going head to head in a CQB environment. Since the rear sight is adjustable for windage, you can manipulate the sight picture of this weapon to improve accuracy and squeeze every last inch of range from this AEG. A full Picatinny RIS handguard and monolithic top rail round out the external features of the Mod-L, allowing you to attach a number of RIS accessories to ensure your success on the battlefield.
To supplement the external features, this AEG comes with a powerful Version 2 metal gearbox. While this gearbox is compatible with a vast array of aftermarket upgrades, Valken has pre-installed many sought after parts to enhance functionality. For example, a reinforced piston comes standard and includes seven metal teeth for reliable operation and a ported head to improve efficiency. A standard torque motor drives the piston as it cycles through an anodized aluminum Type 1 cylinder. The full seal air nozzle contains an inner O-ring which improves air compression and gives this AEG a powerful 400 FPS (w/0.20g BBs) muzzle velocity.
